Magic's current story arc ends this fall, and it ends with Jace Beleren tearing a hole in the Multiverse. Magic: The Gathering – Reality Fracture releases Friday, October 2, 2026, and it's one of the more mechanically unusual in-universe sets Wizards has printed in years.
Every booster contains an echoed pair — two cards showing the same character in both our Multiverse and Jace's Echoverse. That single change reshapes what you actually get out of a box, so it's worth understanding before you commit to a preorder. Here's every sealed product, what's genuinely inside it, what the chase cards are, and which box makes sense for which kind of buyer.

What are echoed pairs?
This is the headline feature, and it changes how boxes feel to open. Every Play Booster and every Collector Booster contains an echoed pair: one card representing our Multiverse, and one representing Jace's version of the same character. With one exception, both cards in a pair depict the same person — showing how their life would have gone in Jace's reality. Liliana the Faultless sits opposite Liliana the Repentant; Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance gets a Titanbones, Towering Heart.
Practically, a Play Booster's 14 cards include 3 echoed pair cards, two of which come from the same pair. You're not just opening singles — you're opening matched sets. Planeswalkers, legendary creatures, and a few other surprises all get the treatment.
The chase cards: Reality Fracture Booster Fun
- Serialized Bloodline Recollector — the set's headliner. A double rainbow foil card in the throwback full-art frame, limited to 500 serialized copies worldwide, found only in Collector Boosters. Serialized copies can appear in Collector Boosters of any language, but the card is always printed in English.
- Shattered mirror cards (13) — alternate-reality versions of famous Magic cards, showing the original's inspiration alongside its Echoverse counterpart. Non-foil versions appear in both Play and Collector Boosters. The facet foil treatment is Collector Booster–only.
- Borderless echoed pairs (30 cards / 15 pairs) — artwork that spans two cards, like Chandra, Torch of Defiance clashing with Chandra, Chill of Compliance. Non-foil and traditional foil, available in both booster types.
- Braintwister series (23) — borderless treatments on the set's most mind-bending cards, including The Theorist, Jace Beleren. Non-foil and traditional foil, available in both booster types.
- Japan Showcase (10) — cards reimagined with artwork inspired by Japanese hobby shops, with a special frame. Traditional foil and fracture foil, Collector Boosters only.
Short version: if serialized cards, facet foils, and Japan Showcase treatments are what you're chasing, you need Collector Boosters. If you want gameplay plus a real shot at borderless and braintwister cards, Play Boosters cover you.
Every Reality Fracture product, explained
Play Booster Box
30 Play Boosters. Each pack holds 14 cards: 5–6 commons, 1 uncommon, 1 common or uncommon, 3 echoed pair cards (2 from the same pair), 1 rare or mythic rare, 1 traditional foil, and 1 land — plus a non-foil double-sided token.
Best for: drafting with friends, building Standard and Commander decks from scratch, and the best cards-per-dollar in the set. This is the default box for most players.
Collector Booster Box
12 Collector Boosters. Each pack holds 15 cards: 4 traditional foil commons, 2 traditional foil uncommons, 3 traditional foil uncommon echoed pair cards, 1 traditional foil basic land, 1 traditional foil rare or mythic rare, 1 non-foil rare or mythic rare FRA or FRC Booster Fun card, 2 non-foil rare or mythic rare Booster Fun cards, and 1 foil rare or mythic rare Booster Fun card — plus an art card or traditional foil double-sided token.
Best for: collectors hunting the serialized Bloodline Recollector, facet foil shattered mirrors, and Japan Showcase cards. This is the highest-variance product in the set. Some boxes pay for themselves; plenty don't. Buy it because you want to open it, not because you're counting on a return.
Bundle
9 Play Boosters, 1 traditional foil promo card, 30 basic lands (15 traditional foil, 15 non-foil), 2 reference cards, a Spindown die, and a card-storage box.
Best for: gifts, casual players, and anyone who wants a real taste of the set without box-level spend. The storage box and lands make it the friendliest entry point for newer players.
Secret Lair Bundle
6 Play Boosters, 2 Collector Boosters, 2 of 10 traditional foil Secret Lair Bundle promo cards, 20 traditional foil basic lands, a Spindown die, and a card-storage box.
The 10 promos are main-set cards reimagined with a full Secret Lair makeover, and they aren't available in boosters. This replaces the Gift Bundle for this set, and Wizards has said Secret Lair Bundles will continue with future Magic Multiverse sets.
Best for: collectors who want exclusive art without committing to a full Collector Booster Box. Worth noting: Secret Lair Bundles are distributed differently from the rest of the lineup, so availability and timing can differ from release day.
Draft Night
12 Play Boosters, 1 Collector Booster, 90 non-foil basic lands, 10 non-foil double-sided tokens, and a draft insert.
Best for: a four-player draft night at home. Everything four people need in one box, lands included — no scrounging through binders at 9pm.
Multiverse Reforged Commander Deck
A ready-to-play four-colour 100-card Commander deck with Jace at the helm: 1 traditional foil face commander with borderless art, 1 traditional foil featured commander with borderless art, and 98 non-foil cards including 16 cards new to Magic. Plus 10 non-foil double-sided tokens, a reference card, and a deck box.
Best for: Commander players who want the set's story deck. Precons with a pile of brand-new cards tend to hold interest longer, since those singles have nowhere else to come from at launch.
Foundations Commander Decks
Five mono-colour, beginner-friendly decks: Calling All Angels, Keen Engineering, Wretched Ranks, Reign of Dragons, and Tramplesaurus Rex. Each contains a 100-card deck with 1 traditional foil borderless face commander and 99 non-foil cards, plus 10 non-foil double-sided tokens, a reference card, and a deck box.
Best for: teaching someone Commander, or picking up a second deck so a new player has something to sit down with. These are built to explain the format rather than to compete in it.
Prerelease Pack
6 Play Boosters, 1 traditional foil promo card, a deck box, and a Spindown die. Prerelease Packs are made for Prerelease events (September 25 – October 1) rather than general shelf sale, so treat them as an event product rather than a preorder target.
